Making cold calls is not one of my favourite parts of running a graphic design business, and generally gets found at the bottom of my ‘to do’ list. I was given a great tip recently at one of our BNI Saltway meetings, and that is to make just one call a day. Guess what? It works! It makes the process a lot less painful. Last week I spoke to someone who was rather rude to me, so I politely put the phone down and carried on with my design work, rather than having to pick the phone up and try again. I can cope with one rude person a day! I hasten to add that I have spoken to some very interesting and helpful people as well.

So why not give it a go? Who needs 5 a day, one will do fine!
