My ideal client

I was asked last week, “who is my ideal client?”.  A straight forward enough question with a straight forward(ish) answer...

1. I love working with marketing consultants. They know their clients inside out and as a result give me fantastic briefs which are well researched containing all the hints, clues and inspiration I need to turn the words into visuals. They also supply a continual flow of work which is always appreciated! Working with marketing consultants I am one step removed from the client, in which there are two sides to the coin, leading me on to my other ideal client...
2. Clients from any business type, sole traders to corporate, who are serious about working together with a design partner and developing their brand. Combining two passions - mine for design, and my clients for their business - makes for a great mix which exciting ideas are born from. Perhaps more challenging than client number one, but slightly tipping the scales on being more rewarding.

In my 20 years of being a graphic designer, I can honestly say I have had creative block once, and thankfully it only lasted a couple of hours.  One of the things I put this down to is being lucky enough to have been working with peers and clients whose enthusiasm is my inspiration. So thank you!
