Stationery

Are business cards past it? In short, no. In a world where digital is taking over print, I believe there is a place for business cards and will be for some time to come. When meeting face to face they give an opportunity to underline our professionalism. They are tactile and can reiterate your brand message in a more permanent way than an eshot. Yes, we exchange contacts with our digital devices, but not all are compatible, and it is no faster than handing over a card. We don’t need as many these days, but if you are considering having some done, go for it and go for the wow factor!

Together with the business card, the stationery suit works together as a function but also as brand awareness. Compliment slips and letterheads that have been beautifully designed will only underline further that they represent a professional company that means business.

We also supply stationery templates such as invoices and letterheads, so for companies who are keen to be paperless, we can help keep you looking professional in all of your communication channels.

Friday's Quick Tip:
The design has been signed off, the client's happy, then you get the email... "Now can I have that in an editable format please?". Where do I start? Designers work in industry standard software which isn't widely used by the majority of workforces. This means that, unless you have the software, the designer will need to make any future edits. If you do want something that you can change yourself, then best to communicate this at the beginning so it can be supplied in software that is more mainstream (be prepared for certain limitations though). A lesson learnt for me too, and I should perhaps ask more questions at the start! For more about what I do https://goshgollygraphicdesign.co.uk/

Friday's Quick Tip:
Last week I really enjoyed admiring people's front door creations for Halloween. I was so impressed as to the creative lengths people had gone to and put my three pumpkins and real cobwebs plus resident spider to shame! Got me thinking... When I finished my degree some moons ago I travelled and worked in Canada, teaching children print making. Looking at my neighbour's decorations it reminded of what I used to say to them: there is creativity in all of us. A good mantra to bear in mind when working with clients, as although they are not the graphic designer, their creative vision is valued and all things creative are not exclusive to us. Friday's Quick Tip:
Does old fashioned Direct Mail still work? Yes, if it's done properly. Although an eye catching and clever design will help, what's more important is that you are targeting the right audience. Once you have your list sorted, spend time on communicating what you are offering with a great call to action, use it as a way to direct people online, and don't forget to proof read! Use personalisation for better response rates. If you are sending a lot out, run a few tests first to check it's successful. And finally, follow up, follow up, follow up. Direct Mail is being used less then ever before so take advantage of a great way to get your brand out there, and be creative with it!For more about what I do https://goshgollygraphicdesign.co.uk/

Friday's Quick Tip:
Before committing to having a large format design printed I would recommend visualising that product in situ. Take this flag for example, designed for Motogymkhana. It is for outdoor use and the initial design was to have the black background as used in a lot of their marketing material, but as you can see it gets lost in situ, and the white background works much better. Time spent dotting 'I's and crossing'T's = avoiding costly printing mistakes! For more about what I do https://goshgollygraphicdesign.co.uk/

Friday's Quick Tip:
Choosing a name for your business can be challenging - coming up with something catchy, meaningful, professional and with the domain/social name available can take some time. If you have a business that plans to cover a local area only, then consider using the geographical reference and what you do as part of it - this way, chances are it's not used already, and it also helps people to find you as these are the key words used by your potential customers when searching for your services online.
